Dress requirements in Patong clubs/bars?

Is there any sort of dress code for bars etc at night in Patong/Bangla rd? Will shirts and thongs be ok or do some places require shoes and pants/jeans? I only really want to pack shorts and thongs :)

Hi Spuddy,

It's all pretty laid back/casual, so shorts & thongs are good - seems to be what is mostly worn.

Definately too hot for jeans IMO

When are you planning on going?

Thanks Waz :)

We are going in mid April which is the start of the hot season so yeh Jeans definitely sound too hot to me haha. I wear shorts when it's 15 so if it's 30 I definitely dont want to wear jeans and if its humid.

Spuddy, Songkran will be awesome fun... don't think you're gonna get sprayed, "drenched" more like it LOL Buy the biggest super soaker you can find!!!! Maybe cheaper to take from home.. get one of those wet bags for your camera perhaps.

One of my sons will be there again for Songkran, loves it... bit of a" Phuket junkie" like his Mum ;D Haven't been to Samui but sons have, totally loved it!! btw can guarantee it wont be your last trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Susan, will be there from 22/4 - 13/5

good idea about the camera bag!

i was actually thinking of buying a super soaker over there from like Junceylon or somewhere. I heard you can buy them off kids on the street but supposedly pretty poor quality which I could imagine.

We didn't even realise it was songkran till after we had booked, it just happened to coincide with my fiance's birthday
