Hi , You could try 'Deang (Red) Restaurant' on 'Soi Kok Ta Nod' Road in Kata . Great Thai food here catering to local Thais and Tourists alike . Average dish costs around 50 Baht and the flavor is excellent .

You could also try ordering 'Som Tan' from the local street vendors . This is a spicy Papaya salad and is delicious . It will set you back about 40 Baht a dish .

There are two restaurants next to each other at the Southern end of Kata beach, right next to the Ska bar. They're both good value and great food. Try the breaded prawns at the one next to Ska bar and glass noodle salad at the next one.

There's a noodle soup cart that's in Soi Malisa (across the road from Kata beach Resort) most afternoons. You can sit in one of the bars down there and eat it, nobody minds!

If you're venturing a little further afield, look for the gas station in Kata (sort of opposite the post office) Outside there, you'll find a som tam cart and a couple of doors away is Corazon. They do the best tom yum soup, and they specialise in crispy pork, delicious and cheap.

I highly recommend Kata Seafood located next to The Ska Bar on the southern end of Kata Beach. We rate their Pad Thai Gai as one of the best on Phuket. Costs around 60 baht and it is a big portion.
