I believe that everyone has a choice of where they would like to visit in Thailand...Be it Chiang Mai,Pattaya,Khao Lak,Hua Hin...etc...

Good night life = Party time = Bangla Road/Patong

All of the beaches are lovely, however for a relaxing quiet drink, very few people = Nai Harn/the last surf beach at the extreme southern end of Phuket...Beautiful area...

Sorry...Not into elephant trekking for certain reasons....

Waterfalls...Go to any of the many tour desks/outlets and arrange a day trip to a selected waterfall....

Fun things that cost money or not...??...Wat Chalong Temple is beautiful and will only cost you a taxi/tuk tuk fare....

Zoos....??...Don't even go there...!!...

Take to Thailand for 10 days..??...I would take enough clothes/swimwear to wear for 10 days otherwise take your clothes to be washed locally...very cheap...!!

Eating out cheaply will cost about 300-500 baht per day each....Depends which part of Thailand...??

So,if you're a big spender,take a wad of cash....If you're like me and over the shopping take about 1000 baht/day for drinks,munchies and fresh fruit,excluding accomodation...

If you have not been before you will want to do more trips than someone who has been abit. Budget on $150 aud or 4500baht each , that should cover all you want to do without worrying about how much you spend.

Elephant trek, look up kok Chang, they have a web page.

Where to stay will depend on what you want. Patong is lively and busy, but I love it. Bonus is, there is everything there , shopping, food bars etc. It's easy enough to escape the hyp when you want too.

If you want a quieter area but still with enough earring and drinking choices with responsible shopping, look at Kata or karon

Hi

you can do all of those things from anywhere that you stay on Phuket, but if you are wanting nightlife then Patong is the place to stay, especially if you are going out partying every or most nights

Kata is nice for the beach and around 15 min taxi into Patong, which all adds up if you go everynight!

I prefer north end Patong, best part of Patong beach and only 15 min walk to Bangla rd & Jungceylon, or 150bhat tuk tuk,

check out Gracelands Resort, its opposite the beach and has plenty of everything you need right on the doorstep: www.phuketgraceland.com

Ellie rides. as Michelle mentioned, Kok Chang is one of the best www.kokchangsafari.com

get a driver for the day and go sightseeing: include: Kata viewpoint, Phromthep Cape, Wat Chalong, Big Budda (not to be missed) Phuket Town and Rang Hill, Aquarium, just to name a few places and this will all take a good few hours

Gibbon Rehab Project and Bang Pae waterfalls are good for a half day tour

wouldn't worry about the zoo...its more of a concrete jungle, very sad place indeed :-(

fun things: ATV, go karts, white water rafting all can be booked at tour kiosks on the streets or your hotel

as Michelle says allow around $100-150 per day each to cover pretty much everything, depending on how much you want to do of course!

sea tours to Phi Phi or Phang Nga use a reputable company that is reliable and safe without all the overcrowding on the boats, www.phuketsailtours.com are one of the best and the only one we will use now, we had the most awesom day out on the sail boat to phang nga

happy planning :-)
