Hello Kavchamp.

A speed boat takes about an hour to get to Phi Phi, can be longer if the weather is not good. Most speed boat trips are day tours, including snorkeling, lunch etc and a return trip. Quality, safety and price vary widely. Can be 1,000 baht to almost 4,000 baht, but I definitely recommend against taking the cheapest tour you can get.

If you just want a trip to Phi Phi, nothing else included, then perhaps the ferry is the best option. This can cost less than 500 baht, no frills.

Ferry trips can usually be booked the day before. The great masses of speed boat trips can usually be booked the day before, but be careful what you get. It also depends upon when you are coming. In peak season, ie Christmas/new year, it may not be so easy to get a booking.

Good luck,

Mark.
