Phuket to Samui

Is there a speed boat service available, not the ferry. If this is available what is the time frame for the journey

Please have a look at a map. To get between the two by boat would entail going via Singapore! You can fly, rent a car, or bus it.

Hi

There's no such service and as Mike L says you will have to go via Singapore. Phuket and koh Samui are on opposite side of the country. Phuket in the west coast and koh smaui in the east coast. You can go by bus and ferry acroos which will take at least 10-12 hours, by car and ferry probably 7 hours and by plane with Bangkok airways ( only sole airlines fly between Phuket and koh Samui) take 55 mins. Bangkok airways fly 5 flights daily between these two destinations.

Hope this help.

Hi,

The cheapest option is by bus and ferry, the link below states there is a direct service to Koh Samui at 09.00:

Speedboat would probabaly take around 3 days, plus refueling and would be very expensiveas you would have to do a private charter.

Bus/ferry combo is the cheapest and would take a whole day to do.

Flying is a lot cheaper than chartering your own would speedboat take around 4 hours if you include travel to the airport, checking in and flying - the flight is only 55 mins as Pea says.

I'd say the OP wanted to know if there is a speed boat service available from Surathani or Donsak instead of the ferries. ;)
