Cape Panwa Hotel/area

Was at this hotel approx. 4 years ago, has there been any developments in the area, from memory a apartment complex was being built in the area near to the kantary hotel opp seafront, I liked this area but found it a tad restricting at times . Considering going back but needs a few more resturants inc thai and international so keen to now if any has improved in the area.

Lasty beach was nice but when tide was in at the CP hotel, in DEc would it be ok to swim or would the tide be constantly out which makes it impossible to swim because of the reef bed.

I can help you with tides only sassy....As a surfer of many years and surfed in Phuket....

Tides work on an approximate 6 hour duration gaining 20-30 minutes on every change of tide....For instance,Low tide - 3 hours to mid tide rising - another 3 hours rising and it is high tide.....3 hours and tide receding to mid again and so on.....With the 20-30 minutes change every tide and per day, gradually tidal changes from morning to afternoon and the cycle goes on.....Difficult to explain but easy to grasp once you know the drill....So, the tide is not always constantly out same time everyday...If it is low tide early morning, say 7am...By 10am it will be mid tide and by 1pm it will be high tide....The next day it will be low tide at approximately 8:00am and 9am the next and 10am the day after remembering there are 2 tidal changes per day....So,keep an eye on the tides or the beach.....
