Cost of visa to Vietnam?

Hello-

I need some help figuring out the costs of a single entry, tourist visa for residents of Canada and the USA. I am applying through the Consultate in Washington

I have tried calling and emailing the Consulate with no success. Their website (US one) provides no information relating to visa fees.

I have searched on different websites and they all have wildly differing costs.

We are currently considering not going to Vietnam since we are unable to get any information on a visa.

Anyone on this forum from the US or Canada recently applied for a Vietnamese visa? If so, how much was it??

Many thanks!

We applied for single entry visas from Canada. Sent off the application that I had printed from their website along with our passports and $79 Canadian dollars each; sent by FedEx and we had them back within 5 business days. I called the Embassy in Ottawa and they gave me the cost, I just sent the payment by money order. It was all very straightforward. Good luck!

• One completed and signed visa application form (PDF Form) with 01 passport-size photo glued or stapled.

• VISA fee in the form of MONEY ORDER, or CASHIER’S CHECK, or CERTIFIED CHECK payable to “THE EMBASSY OF VIETNAM.” Applicants applying together may submit the fee in one money order.

• A prepaid return envelope, if the applicant requests the visa be returned by mail. Please use US Express Mail (UPS and DHL are not accepted for the return envelope). Applicants applying together may provide one envelope for visas to be returned to the same address.

After researching this topic myself, I discovered that Visa on Arrival is cheaper and easier than the hard copy visa through the Vietnamese Embassy in DC. Simply google "visa arrival vietnam" to get the websites that handle this service - Vietnamstay is the one most widely used.

A single entry visa through the Embassy in DC is $65 for 5-7 day processing. 2-3 day processing is $85. They are not good about answering the phone or emails but are very efficient in processing your visa.

Just wondering if the cost of $65 for a single entry visa is still correct, and what the cost of a multiple entry visa is? I, too, am having no luck reaching anyone at the Washington DC Embassy, and have emailed twice, and have been calling many times daily for weeks!

Hi mikomik58,

I just came across your post. That is true VN embassy is tricky, they do not post their fees. I travel to VN to see my friends annually...fees change every year.

I got into the habit using local agency in SFO travelvisapro.com, they always have up-to-date fees and I do not have to stand in line at the consulate.

It is simple to do it that way, but it is just an unpleasant process to wait for 1-2 hours in a cramped room. once I tried to do it by mail and it was just fine.

Good luck and enjoy beautiful country of vn.
