Looking for recommended itinery for a 2 and half week trip around Vietnam. Would ideally like to include a trip into Loas/camodia aswell. Any ideas
If Hanoi, I would recommend the following itinerary for Vietnam.
Day 1: Arrive Hanoi
Day 2: Hanoi City
Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay
Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue
Day 5: Hue
Day 7: Hoian
Day 8: Hoian - Nha Trang
Day 9: Nha Trang
Day 10: Nha Trang - Saigon
Day 11: Saigon - Mekong Delta
Day 12: Mekong Delta - Saigon
Day 13: Saigon - Phu Quoc
Day 14: Phu Quoc
Day 15: Phu Quoc - Saigon
You can connect this itinerary with your Cambodia itinerary.
with two and a half weeks if you wanted a relaxing holiday then my advice would be to either just do Vietnam or Cambodia and Laos for to try and do all three in your time frame is impossible i know for i did a very hectic trip out there last year and just tried to fit too much in, I did vietnam at a frantic pace and stil it took two weeks. I know you like me prob want to make the mosst of your trip but to do what your suggesting you would need a month
Actually 2.5 weeks is really not enough even to see the whole of Vietnam.
I'm sure that with the very best of intentions Poorchild has provided you with an itinerary for the headlong gallop through Vietnam that is so beloved of local people working in the travel industry but results in visitors experiencing almost nothing but travelling from place to place and collapsing in an exhausted heap at the end of it.
You will have enough time to do one of the following:
1. South and central Vietnam.
2. North and central Vietnam.
3. South and north Vietnam.
4. Only north Vietnam, as there is masses to see and do there.
Everything depends on your personal likes and dislikes, so get a guide book and narrow down the choices to what appeals to you most.
