Time Change and Darkness in the Evening

We will be in Viet Nam in late October. About what time does darkness come? Does Viet Nam observe a time change as does the USA on 5 November?

No time change in Vietnam. Darkness falls very suddenly around 6pm.

In Vietnam, darkness comes quickly in October and late in May. When I was in Hanoi and Saigon in October in other years, I found 06:00pm as late evening when all street lights were on. Vietnam is a long, thin country like the letter "S", local time in Hanoi and Saigon are the same.

Nope, they are 7 hours from zulu, 5 hours from Copenhagen in summer, 6 hours from Copenhagen in winter. Daylight savings doesn't really get you much when you're that close to 0 parallel.

My observation is that there is about an hour difference between longest and shortest day. The shortest, obviously being in winter.
