do we need vaccinations?

Travelling to vietnam in august for 11days. Visiting Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An and HCMC. Won't be going off the beaten track. Do we need to have any vaccinations if we are just in the tour is areas?

You should normally have tetanus, typhoid and Hepatitis as standard precaution. The other ones your doctor may suggest such as Rabies, and Encephalitis are not needed. Best ask your doctor what they think and go for the essential ones. Many people travel with none, but it doesn't hurt to have them. You shouldn't need malaria, but take some anti Mozzies stuff just in case you are prone to getting bitten.

See a travel doctor. These forums aren't the best place to get accurate medical advice.

Hep A, Typhoid, Tetanus, Flu shot. Biggest danger from mosquitoes is Dengue fever which you can't be immunised from.

Bring some immodium and antibiotics for potential food/water stomach problem - no big danger but it's better to be equipped so you can get over it quickly if it happens.

Happy travels!
