I will be out there at the end of Aug and wanted to know if anyone knows of some 3-4 star hotels with swimming pool. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Goodluck finding a hotel with a pool in Hanoi in August. The Melia, Horizon, Sheraton, Sofitel etc. All top end. We are travelling to Hanoi in two weeks and found it dificult to find a hotel with a pool. You can always pay to use a hotels pool if you can't get a room at a hotel with pool.

We are going in two weeks to Hanoi and found a lot of the upend hotels with pools booked out or only had expensive rooms left.

Lots of them, just avoid hotels with riverside or beachside - in Hoi An - as they are most likely too near the rivers which are filled by sewer discharges.

Five kilometres out from Hoi An, at Cua Dai Beach, you don't need a pool.

I'm sure you are asking about Hanoi - not HoiAn.

The "Army" Hotel is a 3 star gem in the middle of Hanoi with a lovely salt-water pool.

It has no website but I'm sure you can find some reviews if you google it.

Here is one:
