Going to Hanoi for 4 nights, need advise on hotel

Hi Guys,

I'm going on a 4 night trip to Hanoi with my wife.

Call it chronic procrastination, but I haven't booked a hotel yet :P

We leave on the 26th of December *groan*

Both Elegance 1 & 2 are fully booked.

Anybody can advise on some nice hotels?

Budget's between USD50~USD120 per night...

Cheers!

Less than your budget so may not suit - but check out my review of the Rose Hotel. On the fringe of the Old Quarter; lovely light rooms.

They looked after me pretty well even though I booked all tours elsewhere (just happened that way).

Here's my review and photos for Green Mango Hotel. We glad we found it last month. Trendy restaurant and pleasant rooms.

They have only 6 rooms at price 40, 60 and 80 US$.

I've just gotten back from a trip around Vietnam. Please avoid the Rose Hotel in Hanoi (12B Hang Manh Street) if you can. Read the reviews on tripadvisor- I wish we had. I've posted a review of our own horrible experience. They really are con artists!!

I have actually not decided about the hotel yet.

Anyway I will be arriving at Hanoi on the 15 Feb.

Basically I am looking for a boutique type hotel with swimming pool, my budget is between USD40 -USD60.

If you have any suggestion please let me know.

Do bear in mind that USD40-60 doesnt go very far in Hanoi (and Saigon) these days though the crazy room rates seem to have ease off lately.

While there are plenty of mini-hotels in this price range, I wouldnt describe them as "boutique" hotels and almost all do not come with facilities like gym and swimming pool. The only one that comes to mind is Hanoi Paradise Hotel but I have not stayed there before to give a recommendation.

Szern -

I assume if you checked Elegance 1&2, that you checked 3 - we stayed there and loved it. Also, I heard #4 was opening.
