We looked at various options for Halong Cruises wondering and debating which junk to go on like a lot of other people! We ended up booking our trip once in HMC at a local travel agent. I had kindof decided on HUONG Hai Junks at $115/person for a 2 day/ 1 night cruise. The young lady offered us a cruise with I think, Open Tours Vietnam on the Emerald Junks for $65/person. So we were a bit nervous but took it. It was great - nice bunch of people with a good selection of food (about 5 dishes) even if it wasn't the fanciest it was very tasty. The cabin was small but clean. We only had 3 potplants to the fancier looking junks(we were trying to see what the difference in price was cos they all look very similar)but we had a top deck with loungers, our guide spoke good English and was very amusing. We had kyaking thrown in and a cave visit and the bay is absolutely beautiful. We had to pay for all drinks except 1 comp cooldrink but that is the norm and beers cost $2/each - not too bad!!!!
