To my fellow travelers,we would to do a Sapa Tours. I would like some feed backs about which Tour Company to use. And How many days 2 nights reasonable?
Hi Freddy,
We booked our 3 nights, 2 days Sapa tour through Duc Thai hotel in Hanoi. See my review on the hotel, where I discussed how our Sapa trip was. I'm not sure which tour company they use though, so you could call them up and ask. Overall, the trip was nice, although we had a few miscommunications problem about our hotel meals and what our itinerary was for the second day. I hope you and your friends are relatively fit, because the Sapa treks aren't that easy! :) We went on an 11km trek on the first day and up and down endless steps in Cat Cat on the second day- our calves were still stiff and sore 2 days later.
Our tour guide was a ~25yo Vietnamese guy, who was very pleasant and relatively informative. At some parts of the trip, I thought we could've done with more commentary. He had a bit of a habit of just walking ahead, and talking without gathering the group together, so we missed some of what was said. Still, he was a useful guide. On our tour, we also met a tour guide who was a native! She had learnt English and seemed like an interesting guide to have. Unfortunately, I don't have a name for you to follow up on, but I remember reading elsewhere on this forum some of the tour companies that are highly recommended. So try doing a search again. I'm sure you'll come up with something.
Freddy, you keep asking these questions and as far as I can tell you never look at the answers- certainly you don't reply to any questions that are asked and you never thank anyone for their help. Why is that? Probably won't get an answer to this either...
Dear Freddy,
There are lots of Tour companies, so i hope you will find the best one for you. I think 2 nights 3 days trip in Sapa and surroundings is enough for Sapa discovery. You can explore Sapa as ethnic people, lanscapes and mountain markets. I have made a blog for Sapa, so you can see to get more information for the trip: http://vn.myblog.yahoo.com/morningvietnam2001
Hope it helps
Cheers!

Hi
Yes their are so many companies in hanoi but i heard so many bad things when we were their about alot of them...pay cheap get cheap basically from our experience..my husband and i did a 'cheap' halong bay trip with sinh cafe thinking their prices were good and in the lonely planet and it was the worst 2 days we had,....very low standards...everyone else thought so too...so from that experience we met a group of 4 in the hotel foyer who were touring with a company indochina travelland so we went for 3 nights sapa with them and they were great...good prices great quality service and hotels and the guide was great..fluent english...actually we ended up booking all the way through with them as we went and as we wanted and they were flexible the whole way through ...even followed up during the tour by phone with the guide and at the end to make sure we were ok....give them a go....www.indochinatravelland.com
good luck
