We will fly into Hanoi at about 7:30 at night after long travel from NY and we fly out to Luang Probang the next evening at 6:25 at night.
Since we have a good part of the day before returning to the airport, where should we book a hotel for something to see walking around for the day plus easiest in and out to airport via taxi?
My vote would be to stay in the old quarter. Arrange a taxi both ways through your hotel (our cost was $16. each way). It takes about 1/2 hour, depending on traffic. We stayed at Hanoi Elegance Diamond during our stay in Hanoi last month and enjoyed both the hotel and location.
