There is no train to Phu Quoc - there are no rail lines anywhere south of HCMC.

You will either need to fly or go overland by bus/car then take a ferry or hydrofoil.

Thank for that reply, I just read something similar online, well it looks like we will bus it because we want to see a bit of the country side, any idea's how much cheap hotel will cost and should we book before we go or just check places out one we get there?

Thanx

Depends what you want and when you are going. We will be there come the end of November and beginning of December and we are staying in an Hotel only because I like to be close to the action and will be happy to just walk on the beach (with shoes on probably). I am looking forward to seeing how Phu Quoc beach compares with Busselton!!! There seems to be a lot of bungalows which are fairly cheap. I was going to stay here

http://seastarresort.com - they seem reasonable but again it will depend when you are going. Hope this helps.

as above it depends on when you are going, normally the high season price here is NOV to APRIL/MAY, in that time a cheap bungalow would be from say $20 - $30, the closer to the beach the more expensive it will be

Perhaps to get to/from here you could overland one way spending a few nts in the delta and fly the other way...
