$27USD is way over the top for transport from Airport to District 1. Mai Linh Taxis will charge you around $7 and if the voucher counter is open when you arrive the voucher will be around $9.

The best way into town is the 152 bus (to the right as you exit ) and providing you dont have oodles of luggage is a great introduction to HCMC. Takes you right into the centre of the backpacker area of Dist 1 for about $1 with your bags.

If your on Jetstar then the voucher counter will more than likely be closed, so if you still want to take a taxi .then go next door to the Domestic terminal or upstairs in the International and take a Mai Linh or Vinasun incoming taxi. Dont take any other taxi as they are scam experts. Also the 152 is only good if you arrive before 6.30pm on Scoot or Tiger after an overnight in Singapore.

If you want any further info give me a ring on 65540348

Cheers Ross

The only time I have seen a Hotel charging $8 or so for transfer is if you book for over 7 days. Certainly not any of the 2-3 star places. If you get that $8 fare you can bet its in the room rate somewhere

Ross.
