Bringing wine to Vietnam

Hello All

Only two weeks until we embark on our Vietnamese adventure.

In the past when visiting Thailand we have taken wine with us in our luggage. Would there be an issue doing the same thing coming into Vietnam?

Thanks in advance.

You can bring wine if you feel the need (just check the allowance) but you don't need to bring it. The bottle shops and supermarkets have an abundance of wines from Vietnam, Australia, France, Chile and more. We bought some really great French wines for $11 or $12 for a red, and $7 for a nice white.

The local Vietnamese stuff is pretty awful but sometimes we drink a bottle of the Dalat red (chill it to make it more palatable). At $3 a bottle it's a bit of fun to drink the local stuff when you're over there.

Its not that we like a particular type or don't think the Communists drink it, it was more about the price - thanks for the info AustraliaNomad.

Having tried and failed to drink Dalat wine I would suggest avoiding it and bring your own.
