Chinese New Year

Just wondering if the Chinese New Year on the 14th February is a big celebration in Brunei?

it is a holiday for all Bruneians but there is no special celebrations for it. You will although see people going house visit on the day itself and most chinese shops would be closed on this day. In Brunei we are very warm and welcoming to tourists if they visit the house, it's also the same for Hari Raya which is the local festivities as well. So maybe that's something to look into =) people in Brunei are very friendly so you won't need to feel shy or feel that people will reject you entering their house as it is a harmonious festival for everyone for both these festivities. I've heard of tourists going to people's houses during these festive times and had a blast of fun.

That sounds interesting and is very encouraging for us to join in the festive spirit.
