Hi it has been a dream for the last few years to visit Cambodia and have finally decided to go in January. As it is my first time I am a bit confused regarding what trips to do and how to do it. I have looked at some brochures and below are the tours suggested:
Cambodia Overland (Angkor, Battenbang,Oudong & Phnon Penh) with an optional 3/4 night stay at Sokha Beach resort or Thailand beaches. There is also the Cambodia Discovery tour. Another tour suggested with a different agent is the Explorer (Siem Reap, Battambang, hnom Penh & Sokha Beach resort). Would you recommend I do one of those tours to see Cambodia although they work out expensive. Alternatively, do I book a hotel and organise my own trips when there (can this be done?) Also what would be the best place to stay to see most of the must see things? A lot of the trips seem to be pretty busy with only the chance to relax at the end. Does anyone know any tours where it is busy for say 2 days, then relax, then busy again? Also if I decide to do say The Cambodia Overland tour would you recommend that I choose the beach resort (Sokha) at the end of the stay or one in Thailand? As I have never been to Thailand I thought this would be a good chance. Or would you suggest Laos or Vietnam to visit at the end of the stay? As it is a holiday of a life-time I would want to see as much as possible but still have time to relax and go at our own pace.
Many thanks for your help.
