I wonder which young lady said this and under what circumstances?

Doesn't sound as if the male in question meets the young lady's standards?

Call off the dogs it's an old proverb which like so many others are applicable to many situations. . Furthermore the real translation is " If you want others to respect you..." not "if you want me to respect you" Sorry guys, but don't stop fantasizing anyway.

#5 I am guessing from your name that you are Cambodia, most likely Chinese Cambodian so as a fluent English speaker you probably know already. Also, I do not know if you were talking about me as a translator, but here goes.

1) I have to assume that "gf" is for girlfrend, why you did not use the Cambodian word is not clear

2) People of my generation would not have used "tos te" alone. We would say

Kh(noym) mian tos teh (or) kh(noym) mian tumne. I suspect that this truncation represents a degradation of the native language which frequently happens ato overseas speakers. In any case here goes.

"I have no girl friend, please help me find(get) one.
