Just wondering if it's free in or there is a charge. Are there different tours you can do? Which is recommended?

An entrance fee applies for both Toul Sleng/S21 and for the Killing Fields at Choung Ek.

Best regards. Ian

Tuk tuk for the day to do Killing Fields, S21 Genocide Museum, Russian Market, Central Market, in that order.

Cost $15 + tip. Chose one of the tuk tuks outside our accommodation (Billabong Hotel) at 0930, and he dropped us off at 1430(ish).

The road out of PP to the Killing Fields will be v.busy and will eventually get v.dusty, so have something handy to cover your mouth.

Admission to KF = $5 including excellent audio guide. Allow about 2 hours.

S21 = $2. There's a film shown at 1100 and 1500.

Pretty sure it costs more than $2 for Toul Sleng. Was there two month ago and it was more expensive than that.

$2 they asked for, and $2 they got. That was March this year...

Please note that the audio guide for the Killing Fields is optional. If you don't take it, the entry cost is reduced (but I can't remember how much it is).

It might be optional, but the audio guide fully immerses you into what a visit to the Killing Fields is all about.

It guides you through all 19 stages of the 'park', and is an indispensable asset.

I fully agree with LancasterLad, I would def take advantage of the audio pack. I am not sure I would got the same experience from that trip, especially hearing some of the stories while sitting down.

I found it very emotional and powerful.

Or alternatively you could get a guide... most of them have lived through the experience, especially the older ones in their thirties and forties... they can give you a real insight into the happenings in those times... I've been taking students to do the tour every year and the guides are usually good.

The Killing Fields is about silence and respect, which is why the excellent audio guides are recommended.

While employing a guide might sound a good idea, and while the guides may talk in a soft and quiet voice, some of the prats being guided can be loud and inconsiderate to folk around them!
