3 days east coast Borneo - Selingan or Sipadan Island?

Hi all

I have a few days spare in Borneo around 27th-29th December (after staying at uncle tan’s camp in Sandakan until 26th) and am torn between either going to Turtle Island Park or going to Semporna to dive at Mabul/Sipadan.

Could anybody whose been to either/both tell me what they would do in my shoes? Is Selingan Island itself a nice Island apart from seeing the turtles?

I like swimming, haven’t been diving yet but will be completing the PADI open water course before I would arrive in Sipadan, would this be sufficient? Also, is there any cheapish way to visit Sipadan, seems very expensive!

If anybody has any suggestions for any other beautiful islands on the east coast of Borneo please let me know!

Thanks :)

Can't help you with Sipadan as I have not been there. However I was on Selingan Island in June.

thanks for that, it sounds like you had a great time from your review!

What where the stingers? Are they tiny jellyfish? Were the beaches nice on the island?

thanks :)
