Robinson club

Hi all we are considering robinson club for our next venture to maldives to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, we are looking at the water villa, was wondering if the name club means as what us bits know as club, would it be a suitable island for a relaxing and romantic holiday and intamate dinning. Also have read the reef is now verutually dead but is there good marine life to be seen, we plan to visit in beginning of April.

We went to RC 3 times and found it very laid back. They didn’t push the club aspect at all (although it was there if you went searching for it). We weren’t aware of anything going on at all. Most activities take place in the centre of the island so the beaches are very peaceful. The food was fantastic when we were there although it was before the reef was damaged by El Niño. I imagine the marine life will be there still and it was amazing.

We are talking about the Robinson club Maldives, not the one in Noonu atoll right, Dawn T?

The RCM is now adults only, if you go for a water villa, be aware they have two distinctively different jetties and rooms are very different..

I found it not too intimate and quiet there...When we arrived, a pool party took place and in the evening a casino night.

Apart from the main buffet restaurant, there is only one more with only 3 set menus to choose from. We stayed there in June 2016, don’t think much changed.

Marine life is still good.

thank you for your replies, yes ab369 I am on about the RCM NOT RCN. I didn't realise it was adults only now but that's a bonus :) also didn't realise rooms are different dependant o which jetty your on, thanks for the heads up :). We have visited veligandu before and really enjoyed it but wanted to try a different island, any other ideas people, have tralled through the internet looking at islands, our budget was £8000 for a water villa, all inclusive but have realised were not going to get what we want for that budget so am prepared to spend a bit more, is our 30th wedding anniversary after all :)

I liked Maafushivaru very much, it's a tiny and quiet island and I think that fits more to your requirements. Reef was pretty good during our stay (before the bleaching in 2015). Big bonus: They have also a private island called "Lonubu", which is really romantic. You have the option to held private BBQ's and even to stay overnight only you two.
