Underwater/ waterproof camera advice please

I have been looking at underwater/ waterproof camera's for our trip in September.

I don't really want to spends £100's and only really need it for snorkelling.

should I get one of the cheaper digital camera's or a reusable 35mm one??

Thanks

Hi Jo

Get a waterproof disposable from Tesco's for a few £'s NOT from the island shops where they cost about $30 for the same thing

It's likely that you will be able to hire a good quality camera from the dive school for the day. Most islands will also burn all your photos to a cd for you too.

Hi Jo

If the conditions are right the photos are fine we've had some good results but obviously easier with a cine as you don't need to get so close or wait for the right moment

Hello,

Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to hire a digital underwater camera for the day if available?

Many thanks!

Vakaru charge $25 per half day, and I expect most islands are similar. This was a Sony cybershot and included burning all photos to a cd.

I think hiring one seems like a good idea.

I didn't know this option was available.

We used a disposable one and the pictures were not that good.

Hi,

I've used the Aquapac waterproof case. http://www.aquapac.net

Once I managed to figure out how to operate the camera inside the case the photos came out really really good.
