Paradise or Holiday island?

Hi everyone

I am sure it has been asked before, but I cannot find the answer fast enough and I need to make a decision right now.

3 people, first time to Maldives, 7 nights, looking for beach and relax, interested in a couple of SPA treatments, maybe snorkeling, also in either fishing or watching whales, one traveler is really into Japanese food.

Price that is offered for Paradise or Holiday Islands is the same for Half Board.

Your replies will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

I have not been to either island so can't comment from personal experience. However, all other things in your post being equal - especially the price - I would opt for Holiday Island, simply because it is a seaplane transfer, which is a great way of seeing the Maldives close up.

Have only holidayed once in The Maldives , a few months ago, and that was at Holiday Island, excellent holiday. Everyone in same accommodation...beach bungalows, there is deemed to be a nicer side of the island (which we were on). Night life very quiet, suited us.Yes they do do live entertainment once/twice a week, but compared to Sun Island (next island), we felt that that was too commercialised, we preferred HI..

Could go on and on, any further details PM me. ...P.S. Although we snorkelled (first timers), it was better to get the free boat across to SI,but I read and feel from this forum, that for dedicated snorkellers that HI is not one of their favoured venues (no house reef...essential for dedicated snorkellers/divers ?). Having said that It certainly ticked so many boxes for us.

Nor Paradise nor Holiday has a reef, you will have to go on an excursion to do snorkelling.

I think I would go to Holiday, it is farther from Male and One friend who has stayed at Soneva Gili two weeks ago said that from some bungalows of Gili they can hear at night the music from Paradise, and they have a lot of problems with them because of that... And it is not very relaxing to have music so loud...
