It's not like it is a notion pulled from the blue for stunt purposes. This blond 'approach' is central to Olialia's brand values and business model (so to speak) - missoulian.com/news/world/europe/article_153… I suspect that they are serious in their intent, but perhaps might hit more obstacles than anticipated when trying to pull of securing, building and operating a Maldivian resort.

I personally am both tolerant of people's diverse interests and applaud people making an effort to be distinctive. It might not be the place for me, but I suspect that there are many for whom the concept will provide special appeal (or else they wouldn't have a business success). If they can drive more tourism to the Maldives then good on them. I'm sure that many people have their ideal of what a Maldivian resort 'should be' and any variation is to be frowned upon. I think that with over 100 resorts to choose from, resorts desperately need to come up with ways to differentiate and distinguish themselves. Hats off to Olialia for pushing the creative boundaries.
