Fihalhohi question

Hi,

Just a question for anyone who has recently stayed at fihalhohi..

Can everything....eg, lunch, drinks, spa, room upgrade, be put on a room bill and can this bill then be paid by credit card?

If so, is there usually a charge for using a credit card?

Many thanks

Someone will be along to answer specifically about Fihalhohi, but generally everything is charged to your room and paid for by card.

Credit card charges usually depend on your card provider. Some charge for using abroad, some don't (eg Post Office credit card to name one)...

Hello Loufry

Your description of adding things to your room is exactly how all islands operate - cash or card is not necessary until your final evening.

Most islands will add CC fees only for American Express (higher fees to the retailer than Visa/Mastercard).

loufry1,

Hi, we stayed at Fiha in February and charged everything to our room number, paying by credit card at the end of our holiday. They do allow you to check and, if you want to, pay, at intervals during your holiday so you can keep an eye on expenditure. They also prefer you to check your bill and pay the evening before departure, then pay for the last minute stuff on the last day... There is, of course, the service charge added on to the final bill.

I think we paid by Amex, and the OH can't remember being charged extra... the bill was in US dollars.

thanks Abbi,

What is the service charge?

is this the additional tax?

Most if not all resorts these days add 10% service charge. In addition to that, everything is subject to Goods and Services tax of 6%.

Hello loufry1

I've just come back from the island

Yes beach towels are provided and changed every day so no need to take your own but I would recommend taking a lilo for the sunbeds for comfort.

Safe in Comfort rooms might just be big enough for ipad but not a laptop.

Wish I could go back, I seriously have the holiday blues & it was my 3rd visit to Fiha! :-(

Enjoy! :-)
