Hi Welcome to the forum.

Sorry - I haven't been to Vadhoo but have seen bioluminescence on Fihalhohi and Reethi Beach.

Last year no luck at all, even around full moon, in Oct.

Two years / three years ago in Ihuru, end of Oct or Nov... Can't remember ...

Thought it was seasonal? ( plankton related??)

It's across the Maldives, seasonal and of course depends on the bio-luminescent plankton being washed up on the shore.

Hi guys, So if one was planning on proposing to ones girlfriend and trying to time these blue waves, How would one go about trying to find a season when it could be strongest?

Thanks in advance!!

Ross, cool way to propose. Perhaps contact the island and see if they can tell you the best time of year, we saw lots in November in kuredu but it may differ amongst different atolls.

Good luck with the proposal Ross B

Apparently in some areas of the world, Bioluminesence is visible year round, such as Vieques, Puerto Rico, Mosquito Bay.

It is seasonal in the Maldives.
