Gili lankanfushi questions

Me and partner are getting married in may and plan our honeymoon for July due to work commitments, we dont have all that much money to stay in the best rooms on the most expensive of resorts in the maldives but we are trying to save to afford to stay in Gili Lankanfushi in a water villa. We have lots fo questions so any opinions or help would be appreciated...

1) do we go half board or full board? the price is about £600 difference each for 8 Nights. Half board would mean eating alot for breakfast and skipping lunch or just snacking... what price would we pay for snacks?

2) Ive read that h/b and f/b do not include any drinks?! is this true? if so how much are soft drinks/wine/beer etc

3) What coast is it to have breakfast or dinner in the room?

4)Were going in July - which room would give the best options in terms of reef and sunsets?

5) Is it possible to dine on the beach privately? I hear you can get a credit to eat other restuarants but I doubt it would cover the cost of the other restuarant options off the meal plan?

Really need to weigh up the options of the total cost of staying as its our honeymoon I want to relax ina once a in lifetime paradise without worrying baout a nasty bill when leaving.

any help is appreciated :)

Drinks even water are not included in half or full board. You can of course take snacks with you a lot of people do nowadays to save expense. Can't answer in villa dining costs. You really need a AI resort .This island has a poor to non existent reef.

If you want to know prices, you should send an email to the resort and ask for them. Then decide what is more convenient for you. I would prefer to go HB, and have a light lunch and you won't spend so much money.

No reef, for sunset: you want to go to jetty 3, but if you want some privacy, no speedboat noise during all the day, I'd go to jetty 1 or 2, but of course, I'd ask no to look to the factory island which is just in front of Gili.

HB includes till 90$ for in-villa dining, but there's no credit for special events, as a private beach dinner. When I was there, HB meant 90$+10%+GST per person per night.

Being your first time in Maldives, you'll like it, though I'd go for other options: look at Baros: water villas are gorgeous, ther's a good reef, no kids under 8, so it's great for a honeymoon, and the food and beverages are less expensive... I had a much better experience here and it wasn't as expensive as Gili...

I'm not worried about going AI, unless you drink wine for lunch and dinner, other islands with nice water villas: Constance Halaveli, Athuruga, Thudufushi, ...

Don't look at prices at the resort wwebsites (very expensive), go to specialist in Maldives: Purely Maldives, Original Diving, e-two, Simply Maldives,...

Here you have my Gili pictures, they might make you change your mind about going there: https:/…
