Changing BB to other board types on arrival at resort

Hi

We have booked a 2 week trip to Maldives staying at Reethi Beach resort. Does anyone know if it is possible to change from bed and breakfast to any of the other options, ie half board, full board, all inclusive on arrival at the resort paying the resort direct or do we have to do this through our tour operator before we go. Also, is this likely to cost us more by paying resort for any change in board as opposed to rates quoted by tour operator. When we first booked we thought we would prefer b and b but on thinking about it, it looks to be a more economic option to go to some sort of other board arrangement. As we have to pay tour operator such a long time before we go, we thought it would allow us a bit more time in which to save our spending money if we leave things how they are now and booked at resort. Also, can anyone tell me the average cost of a beer, glass of wine, soft drink, water etc at Reethi Beach?

Many thanks

Thanks for that. However I really wanted to make sure that we can do this ourselves once we arrive and not pre-book the alternative board basis before we go.

Hi Shirley, you can definitely upgrade on arrival at Reethi. You may find it helpful to look at earlier threads on Reethi Select; simply type Reethi Select into the search box on this page and you'll find a wealth of information from people who've visited and decided whether to upgrade their board plan or not. Hope that's a help

Yes you can definitely upgrade on arrival or leave a few days and see how your bill is totting up and then upgrade if you think it's worth it. Once you have upgraded to AI Select though, you can't change back to B&B or whatever.

Reethi posts all its food and drink prices online here

www.reethibeach.com/wining-and-dining.html

Go to each individual outlet (Read More in blue) and view their menu at the bottom. The Rhendi does not give prices as it is the buffet restaurant included in the AI - it does however give you an idea of the themed dinners that are offered everyday. The Rasgefaanu bar is the central/main bar.

Many thanks Heather - I have previously looked at their website but although it showed the menus did not show any prices for anywhere. This is brilliant but still looks to be a headache as to which way to go - going to sit down and indulge on paper and see what I would spend each day! Didn't honestly think the food would be quite as good and was expecting it to be much more basic. Spent £150 a night when dining in a hotel in Sharm and had a lot less for it!

Hi Shirley.. We went B&B at Reethi and found it much cheaper but there again we only drank few beers In afternoon and again at night, not big drinkers but the dining options so much nicer than the buffet everyday.

We have been twice b&b, if the exchange rate stays at $1.6 to the pound then the cost of doing it in advance compared to upgrading whilst there is very similar, certainly not a big enough difference to worry about doing it now or in advance.

I'm also from Maidstone btw, hear the rivers been flooding again? We head back from Thailand tomorrow and was hoping the weather had cleared up!!
