Honeymoon - Resort Choice

Hey All,

We are going to the Maldives in October this year for our honeymoon and have to make a decision between two islands / resorts...I was just wondering if I could get your thoughts on these?

The Lux Maldives & The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi

Thanks Heaps!

why these two ? how did you arrive at such a narrow choice ?

what are your priorities , preferences and expectations ?

if you are planning on snorkeling and enjoying the Maldivian underwater world ... then none of these two

lux is busy , hectic for Maldivian standards .. little privacy in the watervillas facing the channel . has some odd quirky "attractions" like hidden bottles with prizes and such ..

iru is a fine family island ... I wouldn't choose it for a romantic vactation.

Thanks for your post!

Would you have a suggestions for a romantic vacation to the Maldives?

Not going to be doing a massive amount of snorkelling / diving, possibly just a little bit around the island.

we are basically just going to relax and do a lot of nothing.

Swim around prob a water villa, lots of nice beach, and good restaurants with options other than seafood!

Fiancée really want to be able to sit in bath and see the water!

Kyle - the sea in the Maldives is like a bath, only better. Once there, I suspect your Fiancee will prefer being in the water rather than looking at it from a bath.

Multiple restaurants? Buffet or a la carte? What board basis?

multiple if possible as I need to have options when it comes to food. Sounds odd for some that doesn't eat any seafood to be going to an island!

Happy with Buffett but the option to have a la carte would be a bonus.

We aren't huge drinkers when it's just us and nor do we think we will eat a large buffet breakfast then lunch and dinner so at this stage we are thinking a half board option and if we need a snack or a drink we can buy these.

Thanks again for al your help!
