You can't buy duty free cigarettes at arrivals duty free in Colombo.

There is no duty free allowance of cigarettes into Sri Lanka.

Chance of being stopped is close to zero, but if you do, cigarettes are confiscated and you will be fined LKR 6,000/carton.

Hi,

you can buy cigaretts in the duty free on leaving Sri Lanka but have no idea of the cost.

IIRC cigarettes are slightly cheaper at Dubai, but not much. I paid AED 54/carton (GBP 9) in May.

You can check the prices in Dubai on the way out and compare with prices in Colombo.

Legal cigarettes cost LKR 360-380/20. You can buy cigarettes from beach boys for slightly less, but beware that they are most likely fakes.
