Itinerary suggestion and prices for 1 week in Sri Lanka

Hi All,

I am planning a trip of one week to Sri Lanka for next month ( first time in Sri Lanka ) and would appreciate some feed back on some questions I have, We are a couple with a 5 years old boy.

We'll be arriving from dxb at 01h00 am and would like to stay in Kalutara for 5 days, then move to Colombo for the remaining 2 days to get an early flight back to dxb at 05h00, my questions are:

How much would a transfer cost from colombo airport to Tangerine beach resort, we'll be arriving at 01h00 am on either 10 or 11 august.

Is there any seafood or other restaurants nearby the Tangerine beach resort? if not, how much would a taxi or tuk tuk cost to get to the area where restaurants are or the city centre in Kalutara?

Can we swim at the hotel's private beach during this period.

what are the must excursions we need to do in Kulatara and how much does it cost? we would love to take the little one to see some wild life.

How can we go from Kalutara to Colomo and how much does it cost, what are the different options?

What is to be done in Colombo and where to go?

Many thanks for your input guys.

Hi there,

Quite a lot...

How much would a transfer cost from colombo airport to Tangerine beach resort,

--> Rs 6,000-7,000

Is there any seafood or other restaurants nearby the Tangerine beach resort?

--> Hardly, Green Bamboo is a name mentioned sometimes. Not at all a serious bar/restaurant scene, Kalutara is for HB/AI people.

if not, how much would a taxi or tuk tuk cost to get to the area where restaurants are or the city centre in Kalutara?

--> City centre Rs 400 tuktuk, no tourist restaurants. Closest restaurant scene in Beruwala/Bentota, 30 mins away and hence not cheap.

Can we swim at the hotel's private beach during this period.

--> Nope, sea far too rough

what are the must excursions we need to do in Kulatara and how much does it cost? we would love to take the little one to see some wild life.

-->

How can we go from Kalutara to Colomo and how much does it cost, what are the different options?

--> Train would do, first cab to Kalutara South station

What is to be done in Colombo and where to go?

--> See many recent threads, not much except shopping IMHO.

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]

Beaches at Kalutara are not safe for swimming in August. Rough sea and strong currents.

Hello Othmane

First thanks for the visit my country,

Cost for the Air port to Tangerine rupee 6500/- USD 53.00

Yes, there are few recommended seafood restaurants near the tangerine. No tourist restaurants in the Town.

you can swim the sea. But have to careful there Days Sea is rough. Here raining. But beach is clean. You can enjoy the beach.

You can go to Yala national park to see the elephants, leopards and other animals. Udawala national park is famous for the elephants, can see lot of there. Minneriya & kaudulla also can see the lot of elephants.
