Be aware that Spice and Herbal Village, Wood carving centre and Gem museum are hard sell places.

Do you intend to stay in Polonnaruwa from 8.12 to 17.12?

I too agree with previous replies regarding spice gardens, gem museum.

When you travel from Kitulgala to Nuwaraeliya you will find the road (from Hatton to Nuwaraeliya) is in really bad conditions. Though there are two of most beautiful waterfalls (St. Claire and Devon) on the way. So there you have to compromise one.

If you visit Ambewela, I'd suggest you to go to Horton Plains and go to 'World's End'. I don't think you need a 4x4 to go to Horton Plains. Instead of returning back to Nuwaraeliya, you can drive to Bandarawela via Ohiya and start next day tour from Bandarawela to Ella.

A train journey from Nuwaraeliya to Kandy would be worthy but it takes fair bit of time. Also there is a considerable distance between Kandy to Negambo, if you intend to stay at Negambo.

Hi,

Rethink about the accommodation options in the above itinerary.

You may find better options for your accommodation.
