Mosquitoes/ Malaria pills needed?

Hi,

I have read numerous posts on TA regarding this issue but none have been updated. I did look up information on line about it online, and it said it's 99.9% malaria free. TA posts varied - Some say they didn't need to take a malaria pill such as Malarone they just used a good repellent, and covered up well. Others said they took Malaria pills. We are going in Feb of this year.

Our trip involves Columbo, the elephant orphanage, Kandy, Koslanda, Mirissa, and Balapitiya/Bentota. Any thoughts ?

Thanking you in advance,

Hi there,

IF any malaria risk it's not really in any of the areas you visit; it would be in Triangle and UW/Yala plains. So for you 100% no need for tabs.

Still enough need to cover up, Dengue is on the rise almost islandwide and has no known jab or tab to prevent against it!

All the best,
