Snorkelling in Sri Lanka

Trying to replicate a Maldives holiday in Sri Lanka. Snorkelling from the beach, clear still waters, any ideas?

Hi there,

Depends on the season. Best reefs are Trinco (e.g. Pigeon Island) and Passekudah and these are best May-Sept. In our winter there are good reefs, though best ones are not direct from beach, in southwest - e.g. from Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Unuwatuna, Mirissa. www.divesrilanka.com, though centered on diving, also has some snorkel info.

All the best,
