6 families with kids 1st to 7th Sept

Good day All,

We, 6 families with kids - 2-4 yrs and infants 8 months are planning to visit Sri Lanka - 1st to the 7th of September.

We are looking at having a very relaxed break in a cool location with probably limited sight seeing in the plans.

Would be grateful if anyone could suggest an ideal place/ location for kids in Sri Lanka (we are not too keen on coastal areas).

Thanks a lot.

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Kandy will be 20-25' then and hopefully that's cool enough. You could even 'downgrade' for part of the time to Hunas Falls hotel, 45 mins from Kandy, which is 400 m higher and hence 5-10' cooler and in a magnificent location (hill station like). The real cool places are the full hill stations Nuwara Eliya and Ella-Haputale-Ohiya ridge, the latter being much more beautiful than Eliya.

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]

Hi Mark, I agree with Erik.... Nuwaraeliya Hill Station is a perfect spot for a holiday out, I have settled down in Sri Lanka since last year and I have been to n'eliya more than 12 times. Though it is too cold during the time you are planning to visit it is the best place I can think of for a holiday with family. People call this place as the "little England" as they speak of.

Cheers!

Hi Mark,

As your group’s kids are too young Kandy is a better place than Nuwareliya as a main stay. When rain Nuwaraeliya is awful place. But you should visit Nuwaraeliya for short stay as it is much different and beautiful to other areas of the island. For grown ones Nuwaraeliya has ample adventure activities like world end trek.

Happy Holiday!

Leisure World and Dehiwala Zoo are not worth visiting.
