booking hotels

I am looking to book hotels in Sri Lanka (Kandy, Bentota, sigiriya et) but find 4* and 5* hotels are priced really high. I understand that when you book through travel agent you get a better break but is there a website I can use to book it directly myself without paying through my wallet.

lux, unfortunately not that i know of.

But you can always contact a couple of agencies and get some quotes first? so you can see if the difference is worth it. (they dont make you pay for estimates :)

Hotels are usually cheaper if booked through an agent but with guest houses you can often do as well or better booking yourself. For hotels I use a combination of the two sites Hans has mentioned and Red Dot Tours - just check them all out and see which comes up cheapest. Red Dot is one of the best sites for finding out about the hotels, with maximum information.

Good luck,

To add:

Our agent got undercut on expensive hotels like Vil Uyana, of course mainly for close to departure date as the site name implies...
