currency to bring to SL

Can anyone advise as to the best currency to take to Sri Lanka.

If I took a cash passport that requires Mastercard access is there that facility available at ATMs around the country?

Hi KC,

For Brits it's Sterling, for Continentals it's EUR, etc. etc. - no reason at all to use specificly USD.

Yes many ATMs in the country allow Mastercard.

All the best,

Sampath , HNB, Commercial , those banks have ATMs that supports master cards, dont try to withdraw 5000 - 15000 - 25000 etc, always get 10, 20 , 30. Because some ATMs have problems processing.

Easy to get atm in the big cities like Colombo but not smaller places like Nuwara Eliya. Not impossible but you definitely need to look for it.
