Traveling outside of Turkey!! Help :)

I am going to Turkey during the middle of May 2011, we are staying in Istanbul for about four days (Saturday-Wednesday). We are hoping to maybe travel outside of the country of Turkey for about 3 days (leave Wednesday morning come back Friday night or Saturday morning). Any suggestions where we could go?

Rather than leave the country for 3 days, why not visit another region of Turkey? It is a vast and beautiful country with a tremendous history. A popular "2nd holiday centre" is the Cappadocia region with its amazing almost lunar landscape, "cave" hotels and underground cities, or try one of the coastal regions - where you can find historic ruins, lovely beaches and boat trips - the weather should be nice in mid May.
