Izmir or Bodrum

Hello,

I am debating between visiting Izmir and Bodrum. what re the pros and cons of each, and whioch would you recommend? Factoring in my decision will also be which Greek Islands I can day trip to from each city.

Thank you

Izmir is much more of a city than Bodrum - which is more of a town mixed with a holiday resort. From Bodrum, you can visit Kos and Rhodes.

Is Rhodes better than Chios? Or comparable?

Sorry can't help with that - although I know you can get a ferry from Rhodes to Chios so maybe you could extend your trip and do both :-)

Thanks for your help! I am leaning towards Bodrum, because we're doing 5 days in Istanbul so I think that will scratch my "city" itch. Bodrum looks so beautiful. Any restaurant or other recommendations?

Bodrum is a lovely area as it is both a city and a peninsula. There are many different resorts on the peninsula and plenty to see and do.

Have a look om this website for more information including restaurants
