Travel to Kusadsi

We will be in Istanbul in mid-May and would like to travel to Kusadasi and then to the Greek Islands. Does anyone have any info on travelling from Istanbul to Kusadasi? Train, car or bus?

You can go by bus, train or plane to Izmir and then the local bus into Kuşadası,an hour away. The train and bus take 8 hours and the flight is an hour,so a big difference and yet the price for flights is often the same the bus!

Here are some useful sites-

pisang, welcome to Turkey. You can take a bus direct to Kusadasi or you can fly to Izmir and transfer free from airport to Kusadasi. Metro Turizm, "http://www.metroturizm.com.tr/en/index.htm#", has an overnight bus to Kusadasi from Istanbul and you can buy your tickets on the internet. It only costs 58 TL/person. If you fly by Atlas Jet, "www.atlasjet.com/AtlasjetWeb/atlasjet.kk…", or by Onur Air, "http://www.onurair.com.tr/default_eng.aspx", you will get a free bus transfer to Kusadasi from the Izmir Airport.

Finally, you can also take the following cruises, starting from Istanbul, and visiting Kusadasi and Greek islands and Athens, mid May. "cruisecompete.com/itins/seven_seas_mariner_c…", and "cruisecompete.com/itins/wind_star_cruises_ba…", and "cruisecompete.com/itins/silver_wind_cruises_…".

good luck,

Do yourself a favor and fly AtlasJet. I recently used them to go to Selcuk, Tickets are in the neighborhood of $30 each way,and the free shuttle is extremely easy to use and extremely helpful.
