Visiting the sights in Istanbul

We will be spending 3 days in Istanbul next week. Is it worth it to be on visits to the sights with a guide, or do most museums and attractions have information one can read in English? What would be the best museums to see in a few days? Does anyone have any hints as to how to organize the days? Thanks.

3 days is not a lot of time. If you want to rush a little buy the museum pass and hit those sites plus the blue mosque, spice bazar and grand bazar. If you want to take it easy, then the Topkapi Palace, Archeological Museum, Hagia, Sophia, Blue Mosque, spice bazar and Grand Bazar. Rest of the time around Taksim, Eminanu, Sultanahmet. It is a lot of walking and being harassed by street vendors, but fun.
