What Will Be Open during Sacrifice Feast 2014?

We will be travelling to Istanbul in October 2014. We arrive on October 3 and will be there for two days before travelling to Cappadoccia. We understand there is a four day religious holiday starting on October 3 and going until October 7. Will this affect entry to the main sights of Istanbul or Cappadoccia? What about restaurants and stores?

Sylvia, everything will be open according to their regular schedule except the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar, which will be closed all throughout.(Although during the last day, sometimes the bazaars open). All attractions and museums and stores are open (on the first day of the bayram museums will be closed till 1.00 pm only). Naturally banks, schools and government offices are also closed during the bayram. This is a holiday where a huge number of Turks travel to holiday destinations or to their relatives.

good luck,

Hi enigma

Thanks for your reply. Will restaurants be open during this time? I cannot wait to see Istanbul. Is this a good time to travel there?
