Tomb of barbarosa

Hey dear Advisors, we are visiting Istanbul this Thursday and are super excited. I would like to know where is the tomb of the great warrior Barborosa or Khizr Khairuddin Pasa? My son is into history and he likes to visit it. Thanks in advance

love, As Transamerika says, Tomb of Barbarossa is at Besiktas, right behind the Besiktas pier for Uskudar ferries. Your son should also visit the excellent Maritime (Naval) Museum right next to the tomb.

May I also suggest to visit the mosque of Sinan Paşa that is located across the tomb of Hızır Reis whom was also an Ottoman sea admiral of the same era

Also a little further down the road in Tophane is the wonderful Kılıç Ali Paşa complex whom was built in honour of Uluç Ali Reis whom was also a great sea admiral of the same era in history

There is also a recently restored wonderful authentic hamam which is part of the same complex

Closeby is the Istanbul modern museum which houses modern and contemporary art exhibitions if it is of any interest http://www.istanbulmodern.org/en

Do not miss Naval Museum next to tomb which was renovated short time ago. Across tomb, Sinanpaşa mosque is a masterpiece build by Architect Sinan. Enjoy food in fish market located behind mosque.
