Safety in Israel these days

Dear All,

I will travel to Israel in two weeks, with husband, daughter and mother. We will stay in a rented apartment in Jerusalem and rent a car to go to to the Sea of Galilee, Tel-Aviv, Masada, Red Sea.

How safe would it be for us to travel independently? Are there any places to avoid (we are not going to the Territories except for Bethlehem).

Thank you!

While I do not know crime figures in Bucharest, I would venture to say Israel is just as, if not more safe than your home city. You will have a great trip and join the many many others who after a short time on the ground are laughing at themselves for even thinking they would be/feel unsafe!

Hello,

We went to Jerusalem for a week last year for the first time and felt much safer there than in any of our usual holiday destinations. We walked miles, on our own, during the day and in the evenings.

Can't wait to go back!!

Helen.

There aren't any special recommendations for independent travelers.

The places that you are going to visit are not close to the "conflict zone" therefore there aren't roads to avoid.

The only thing you need to be concerned about are theother drivers on the road, other than that Israel is as safe as could be -- in all of the destinations you have pointed out.
