Cellcom phone can't get calls or texts from Hot Mobile?

I'm visiting Israel for two weeks and brought an old Cellcom phone with me along with my US smartphone. I was hoping to be able to get a SIM card for my US phone (a Verizon HTC Rezound) but the cell phone place I went to couldn't make it work, so instead they sold me a new SIM card for the Cellcom phone, which seemed to work fine. However, I quickly figured out that I couldn't receive calls or texts from anyone with a phone on the Hot Mobile network, which is a problem because a lot of the people I need to see here use phones from Hot. Any clue why this is happening and how I might fix it? I went back to the cell phone place and the guy who helped me had no idea why it was happening, and adamantly refused to believe it could possibly be a problem with his SIM card or with the phone itself.

Thanks for any help!

No solutions - but this is the first I've heard of a phone not receiving calls for a particular network.

You might try contacting HOT to ask if they know, or for one of your contacts who is on HOT to call and complain that the calls aren't connecting.

You SIM belongs to Cellcom, right? than your mobile operator, Cellcom, should solve the problem for you (not HOT).

Call *166 to get Cellcom technical support.
