Golan and Upper Galil

We are staying near Rosh Pina for a week in August and want to know the best places to go and see. We are interested in history, nature and wineries and will have a car so distance no object.

Definitely include Tel Dan Nature Reserve, Banias Nature Reserve, Mount Bental and the Golan Heights Winery on your list. I'd also suggest a Golan Heights jeep tour.

Hi Dave,

Any recommendations for English speaking jeep tours? Have tried to find some, but most seem to be in Ivrit which is not great for hubby!

Look at the National Parks web site and click on [Golan Heights and Upper Galilee] to display a list of their sites in the north:

Note the "Money saving ticket" offer for entrance to multiple sites.

Best jeep tour in the Golan Heights is offered by Ilan Shulman of Kibbutz Merom Golan. You can reach him at golanland@gmail.com. Ilan speaks English very well.

The Golan Winery in Katzrin offers very informative tasting opportunities.

If you enjoy water hikes, Yehudiya is challenging and fun, For something less challenging, try Madrasa:
