Caesarea vs Bet Shean

We are renting a car to drive to Nazareth and Caperneum for one day. Wonder if we should go to Caesarea instead of Bet Shean. Any suggestions?

Your question is not clear. Are you planning to go to Nazareth, Capernaum & Bet Shean in one day and you are considering changing it to Nazareth, Capernaum & Caesarea ? Where are you starting from in the morning and where will you end up that evening?

They are both very interesting sites. They are in completely different directions. Beit Shean is very hot in the summer, and the night show is a good option (book in advance). Ceasarea is on the coast and is a stunning site (some people find it crowded - it wasn't busy when we went and we really enjoyed it). It depends on where you will be going after you visit the site - or if it is a half day trip from Nazareth?

We saw Ceasarea as a day trip from Tel Aviv and we visited Beit Shean on the way to Jerusalem from the Kinneret. If I had to pick one, I would visit Cesearea.

Traveling from Tel Aviv Caesarea is on the way. Traveling from Jerusalem Beit Shean us on the way. In either case you should leave by 8 a.m. if you want to accomplish your lust of sites in one day.

From the middle of May until end of October, I would NOT visit Beit Shean. Instead, I'd tour the Roman ruins at Caesarea.

During the rest of the year, Beit Shean is a delight if you are interested in Roman period archaeology. It's the largest archaeologist site in Israel.
